PWBA Tour heads to Ohio for PWBA Barbara Chrisman Classic presented by Storm

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a busy week at the PWBA Summer Series in Rochester, New York, the Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour heads to Columbus, Ohio, for the PWBA Barbara Chrisman Classic presented by Storm at HP Lanes.

The week begins Thursday, June 4 at 3 p.m. Eastern with the official practice session before the Bowl with the Pros at 6 p.m. Eastern, allowing the local community to bowl alongside their favorite professionals in a fun environment.

Competition begins with 110 competitors Friday, June 5 with the first of four six-game qualifying rounds at 10 a.m. Eastern before a second round later that evening at 5 p.m. Eastern. The top third of the field will return Saturday, June 6 for the third qualifying round at 9 a.m. Eastern.

Only the top 12 will advance to the final round of qualifying at 2 p.m. Eastern, and the top five after 24 games of qualifying will continue to the stepladder finals Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. Eastern. The bowler who emerges victorious will earn a PWBA Tour title and the event’s $20,000 top prize. All rounds of competition will be streamed live on BowlTV.

Reigning PWBA Player of the Year New Hui Fen of Singapore is looking to repeat as the best player on tour and currently leads the PWBA in points (66,500), average (223.85), championship-round appearances (five), cashes (six) and match-play appearances (four). She added a win during the PWBA Northern Colorado Open in May and is over 22,000 points ahead of second-place Shannon Pluhowsky of Dayton, Ohio.

The PWBA Barbara Chrisman Classic presented by Storm is the first event under a naming rights sponsorship between the PWBA and Storm Bowling, with this event named after Storm co-founder and United States Bowling Congress Hall of Famer Barbara Chrisman.
